Geldof, Bono Nobel Nominees

Sir Bob Geldof and Paul “Bono” Hewson are among the 191 nominees for this year’s Nobel Peace Prize.

The two Irishmen were given the nod for their individual and collective campaigns to raise awareness of human rights and to end global poverty with such events as last summer’s Live 8 global concerts.

Geldof and Bono are not shoo-ins because the Nobel committee has just started weeding through the enormous list.

Geldof was named Nobel Man of Peace last year.
