Posh Against Promoter
Owners of Ferndale, Mich.’s Posh Nightclub have filed a lawsuit against a Phoenix party promoter who allegedly owes more than $28,000 for four parties he organized at the club.
In a lawsuit filed in Oakland County Circuit Court against Vernard Bonner, Posh officials claim the promoter promised early February parties hosted by ex-basketball star Magic Johnson, fashion heiress Gemma Gucci and a “Playaz Ball” with self-styled pimp Bishop Don Magic Juan, according to the Detroit Free Press.
Operators say Bonner literally slipped out the back door of the nightspot to avoid paying up.
Posh owners are also seeking an injunction against Ticketmaster from paying Bonner until the suit is resolved. The company sold tickets to the event ranging from $75 to $225.
Bonner denied letting anyone down, according to the Free Press, but Posh VP Aubrey Tobin said the promoter misled the club about how many customers he could deliver and which celebrities would appear.
