Foxy Brown Talks Hearing Loss
Rapper
“I ask only for your continued prayers and compassion as I embrace the blessings of my journey,” a tearful Brown told reporters.
The entertainer and her medical consultant, Dr. Laura Arias, wouldn’t give any details on the surgery, when it is scheduled or how the long recovery process will take. Brown added she will return to the studio “the moment that God affords me the opportunity to hear again.”
Brown’s hearing loss was revealed by her then-attorney Joseph Tacopina during a December 5th hearing in NYC’s Manhattan Criminal Court. When the judge asked Tacopina why he and his client were exchanging notes, the attorney explained that Brown is nearly deaf.
The rapper was in court to face charges of misdemeanor assault, attempted assault and harassment stemming from an August 2004 altercation at a Manhattan nail salon. Brown and Tacopina reportedly parted ways shortly after.
Brown’s new attorney, Joseph Fleming, said he’s “cautiously optimistic” that the case will be settled prior to a December 23rd hearing.
