Ottawa Venue Setbacks

The future of a proposed 900-seat concert hall in Ottawa, Canada, may be in jeopardy after supporters reportedly weren’t able to secure federal money before a November 28th no-confidence vote in the House of Commons.

The government was criticized by Ottawa Centre district Parliament member Ed Broadbent for failing to commit $6.5 million as its share of the hall’s $27 million price tag, according to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.

The rest of the venue’s cost was to come from the province, the City of Ottawa and the private sector.
