Willie Hutch Dies
Veteran singer/songwriter
The cause of death was not released.
Hutch, 60, got his start at Motown in 1970 when producer Hal Davis asked him to finish the song “I’ll Be There” for the Jackson 5, which became one of the group’s early hits.
He went on to collaborate with the label’s many stars and wrote songs for soundtracks as well.
He also found time to record his own albums; his most recent, Sexalicious, was released in 2002.
