Carter Tours To Rehab

Backstreet Boy Nick Carter will get to finish the group’s tour before checking in for a three-month, court-ordered alcohol rehab program.

The singer pleaded guilty June 28th in Orange County Superior Court to misdemeanor drunk driving stemming from his arrest in Huntington Beach, Calif., March 5th.

In addition to rehab, he was sentenced to three years informal probation. Plus, he’ll have restricted driving privileges for 90 days and pay a $1,200 fine.

Publicist Juliette Harris said Carter will complete the rehab program as soon as BSB’s current tour wraps in mid-October.

“His required fulfillment of the alcohol program will not interfere with Backstreet Boys‘ current touring and promotions of the new album,” she said.

Police arrested Carter after he was pulled over for a traffic violation and then failed a field sobriety test. His blood alcohol level measured above the legal limit of .08.

At the time, Carter said he had a taken a prescription medication and wasn’t aware of its possible interaction with alcohol.
