Frank Gorshin Dies

Frank Gorshin, 72, died May 17th at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, Calif., following a battle with lung cancer, emphysema and pneumonia.

Gorshin was best known for an Emmy-nominated role as The Riddler in the ’60s “Batman” television series but also had a formidable career as an impressionist and movie actor.

He portrayed George Burns in a one-man Broadway show in 2002, and passed away two days before his appearance on CBS’ “CSI” television series.

Gorshin imitated Al Jolson, Kirk Douglas, Bobby Darin, Dean Martin, James Cagney and three dozen more celebrities.
