AEG Approved For Sprint Center

Anschutz Entertainment Group has been given the blessing by Kansas City, Mo., to manage the planned 18,500-seat Sprint Center.

AEG, which has a 35-year deal to operate the facility, is contributing $50 million to its construction.

The agreement gives AEG most of the profits in return for facility management. In return, the city is guaranteed a minimum $1.25 million in user fees to help defray construction costs and has final approval of AEG’s nominee for general manager, according to The Kansas City Star.
