Big Time Rush Returns From Hiatus And Announces ‘Forever Tour’

Big Time Rush has unveiled dates for the “Forever Tour,” marking the boy band’s first headlining tour in seven years. 

The upcoming 41-stop trek produced by Live Nation kicks off on June 23 at Theater at MGM National Harbor in Washington, D.C. Dixie D’Amelio will be joining the band for select dates, including in Boston, Philadelphia, New York, Chicago, Atlanta and more. Big Time Rush will continue on without D’Amelio for dates in Austin, Houston, Denver, San Diego, and more before wrapping up at the Concord Pavilion in Concord, Calif. on Aug. 20. 

“Not only are we excited to be sharing new music with you this week, but we’ve been holding onto this secret for over two years and now it’s official!” the band said in a statement. “We are going back on tour! We can’t thank you enough for all of your love and support over all these years and we can’t wait to see you at the ‘Forever Tour.'”

Big Time Rush first gained fame in 2009 alongside their Nickelodeon TV show of the same name. Ahead of the show’s end in 2014, the band released three studio albums, including BTR, Elevate, and 24/Seven. Following their show’s final season, each band member went on to pursue their own projects.

Since reuniting last year, Big Time Rush has performed two sold-out shows in Chicago in New York City and begun to release new music, including “Call It Like I See It” and “Not Giving You Up,” which is due to be released on Feb. 25. The band also joined the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball in Philadelphia and Atlanta following their reunion.

Prior to their hiatus, Big Time Rush had gone on tour throughout South America with stops in Argentina, Chile, Mexico and more. Reports submitted to Pollstar’s Boxoffice for the trek include a Feb. 11 show at Arena Ciudad De Mexico in Mexico City that grossed $673,723.

In 2013, the band went on tour with fellow Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice, which saw stops in Chicago, Baltimore, Charlotte, N.C., Atlanta, Dallas and more. The tour’s highest-grossing dates included a July 18 show at Northwell Health At Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, N.Y., which brought in $602,126, according to a report submitted to Pollstar.

Tickets for the band’s upcoming trek will begin to go on sale starting on Feb. 25 at 11 a.m. local time via the band’s website. Citi cardmembers will have access to an exclusive presale beginning Feb. 23 at 12 p.m. local time until Feb. 24 at 10 p.m. local time through the Citi Entertainment program.
