Pollstar + VenuesNow 2022 Women Of Live: Elizabeth Collins & Susan Genco

The Azoff Company
Co-Presidents

As co-presidents of The Azoff Company, the parent company of a growing list of music industry powerhouse companies, Elizabeth Collins and Susan Genco’s plate runneth over. Together they oversee a multifaceted music business empire representing almost every aspect of an artist’s career, from management, publishing and artist advocacy to touring, rights management, venues and more.

To look at the individual companies, as well as the range of artists they represent, is to see a large swath of the music industry ecosystem in action with a Hall of Fame roster spanning multiple generations.

The companies under The Azoff Company umbrella include:

Full Stop Management
A management company with an impressive roster that includes Harry Styles, Eagles, Maroon 5, Earth, Wind & Fire, Lizzo, Haim, The Doobie Brothers, Meghan Trainor, Mark Ronson as well as Journey (in partnership with John Baruck) and John Mayer with Dead & Company (in partnership with Steve Moir and Bernie Cahill).

In 2021, Full Stop had the biggest ticket-selling tour of the year with Styles’ “Love On Tour,” a 42-date, three-month arena tour in an especially challenging year that moved some 720,000 tickets – the most of any artist in 2021. This meant Styles’ tour played, on average, an arena show every other night traveling hundreds of miles between shows and forsaking sleep in the most challenging business environment in the history of the concert industry and did it safely.

In September, Full Stop began managing 28-year-old rapper Saweetie, who has already received a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist and has had two singles, “Tap In” and “Best Friend,” chart on the Billboard Hot 100. Iconic Artists Group

Iconic Artists Group
A rights management company with stakes in the rights of such massive legacy acts as The Beach Boys, Linda Ronstadt and David Crosby. In early March, Iconic Artists Group lived up to its name when it announced it had acquired the rights to Nat King Cole’s assets toward “managing, protecting preserving and expanding his groundbreaking legacy to new generations.”

Global Music Rights
An independent performance rights organization founded in 2013, GMR has a history of fighting hard for artists to be compensated fairly for their work. The growing catalog represented by the firm includes songs by everyone from Dave Matthews, Don Henley and George Harrison to Drake, Eddie Vedder, Bad Bunny and Bruno Mars.

Music Artists Coalition
An artist advocacy group co-founded in 2019 by top managers Irving Azoff, Coran Capshaw and John Silva to protect artists.

Oak View Group
A venue development company (and Pollstar parent company) founded in 2015 by Azoff and Tim Leiweke has done more in the last six months to live up to its promise to “positively disrupt” the venue industry than any other time as it grew exponentially.
The many highlights included OVG opening Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, which set the bar for sustainability while landing new NHL franchise the Seattle Kraken; launching the stylish new UBS Arena in Belmont, New York, providing the NHL’s Islanders a new home and Long Island a new concert venue; and acquiring Spectra, a top venue management, food service, hospitality and partnerships business, greatly increasing OVG’s size and scope. Look next month for the company’s opening of Moody Center in Austin, Texas.
