Pop Up: Madison House Agent Jordan Burger Would Like To Buy A Vowel
Jordan Burger/Wheel Of Fortune – Jordan Burger
The Madison House agent and Nashville office senior director put a feather in his cap with an appearance on “Wheel Of Fortune,” in a game broadcast Feb. 18.
Madison House agent Jordan Burger’s been a fan of “Wheel of Fortune” since he was a kid. Between circumstance and inspiration, he was able to fulfill a lifelong dream to be a contestant, on a game that aired Feb. 28.
During the pandemic, Burger spent a lot more evenings at home, “just bored with canceling and rebooking shows day after day after day,” he tells Pollstar. At home, watching “Wheel” with his family, he decided to apply as a contestant. It took two tries, and more than a year, but Burger finally got the call.
Burger was preparing to board a flight to Nashville from Boulder, Colo., where he’d attended a December memorial for his late, great friend and colleague, Madison House partner and agent Jesse Aratow, when his phone rang. He almost didn’t answer it.
“At the last second, I grabbed it, and it was a producer from the show,” Burger says. He had three days to get to L.A., pass COVID testing and play.
In his on-air interview with host Pat Sajak, Burger managed to shout out Aratow’s favored catchphrase, “keep the dream alive,” in tribute to his friend.
Despite leading for most of the game, the wheel got the better of Burger. He only played one game, but walked away with $16,190 and a trip to Barbados. And he may have dodged an embarrassing bullet – the next game taping went viral when no contestants finished the phrase “feather in my cap.”
But it was still an experience of a lifetime for Burger.
“All this stuff has taught me a lot about appreciating life, coming home, and being with the family in the evening,” he says. “You know, I’m glad to be back at shows, but that dinner hour has become an important time for me, and it starts with ‘Wheel of Fortune’!”
