Each year, Tomorrowland’s main stage is made entirely from in-house décor and materials. The festival’s own creative team is responsible for the entire process, from the idea to sketch to technical design, all separate elements are crafted in the Tomorrowland Atelier.
All materials are stored in a warehouse located in a village next to Boom, next to a large greenfield full of containers, filled with more materials. “Every year we try to reuse things, so we don’t have to throw them away. Sometimes you will see items from a main stage from three years ago on another stage,” the festival’s press coordinator Debby Wilmsen told Pollstar in a past interview.
The 16th edition of Tomorrowland revolves around “The Reflection of Love,” symbolizing “the positive energy the festival stands for,” according to a press release, which goes on to state: “An unexpected darkness fell over the People of Tomorrow but will now make way for a unique moment at the mesmerizing ‘Reflection of Love’ stage.
“During three weekends, the intense connection between the People of Tomorrow and the special union of positive energy across all borders will bring magic and a worldwide reflection of light to the festival grounds in Boom, Belgium, calling on all festivalgoers to spread the positivity and connection they experience at the festival around the globe.”
