Former ICM Partners Staff Make Soft Landings At APA, Wasserman, Gersh Agencies
With the acquisition of ICM Partners by CAA earning the approval of federal regulators, the expected game of employee musical chairs has begun, with several former ICM staffers finding new homes and APA appearing to be the primary beneficiary.
Among them is Chris Smith, a 21-year ICM veteran and partner for the last 10, whose area of expertise is primarily in comedy touring but with experience across departments. He becomes senior vice president of Global Concerts & Talent, and will work alongside Max Burgos, who heads up APA’s comedy touring department. Smith brings with him assistant Audrey Henson.
Comedy agent and coordinator Josh Lanham also accompanies Smith and Hanson in making the jump from ICM Partners to APA.
Agent Andrea Johnson, who was made a partner at ICM in January 2020, has also left the agency and brought her impressive performing arts roster with her to Wasserman Music. Among Johnson’s clients are Candace Bushnell, DCappella, David Foster, Eleri Ward, Jane Lynch, Katharine McPhee, Losa Loeb, Michael Feinstein, Straight No Chaser, T.3, The Piano Guys, Vitamin String Quartet and Wilson Phillips. Family shows and other events repped by Johnson include Anime Music Festival, Disney Princess – The Concert, Encanto: The Sing-Along Film Concert, and Joker – Live in Concert.
And while his work is mostly in film, it is notable that former ICM agent and partner Bart Walker has left the company and joins Gersh as senior partner, according to Variety.
