Rolling Loud Makes 2023 Thailand Play Official
Rolling Loud, which has grown from a one-day hip-hop festival in Miami to a multi-city continent-spanning megalith, will make its Asia debut in Thailand in April 2023.
The festival’s first foray into the Asian market is set for April 13-15 at The Legend Siam Amusement Park in Pattaya, a beachside tourism hub on the Gulf of Thailand about 60 miles southeast of Bangkok. That weekend coincides with Songkran, the Thai New Year celebration.
“We’re proud and honored to have Thailand host our first festival in Asia. Rolling Loud has been looking to expand to Asia for a while, and we’re confident that Thailand is the perfect setting,” Rolling Loud co-founders and co-CEOs Matt Zingler and Tariq Cherif said in a statement. “Our local partners are pulling out all the stops to make Thailand one of our most exciting events on any continent. We can’t wait to bring the amazing energy of Rolling Loud to the people of Thailand, and as always, showcase the best of the local rap scene.”
In August, Zingler told Pollstar “We plan to expand off of Thailand into other markets around that same time period.”
In that interview, Zingler said Rolling Loud had found an “amazing partner” in Thailand and hinted that Pattaya’s existing tourism infrastructure was a critical reason it was selected to host Rolling Loud’s first Asian dates.
Tickets go on sale Oct. 1 with general admission priced at 8,500 Thai baht (about $232) and VIP at 12,000 baht ($328). The line-up will be announced in November.
The announcement follows Rolling Loud’s Toronto debut Sept. 9-11. In August, the festival announced the return of its California edition, scheduled for March 3-5, 2023, marking the first-ever music festival to take place at the 300-acre Hollywood Park, on the ground adjacent to SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif.
