Drake Teams Up With SiriusXM For Apollo Theater Concert
Drake will be performing in New York City’s iconic Apollo Theater on Nov. 11.
Fans will have the opportunity to win tickets to the event through the SiriusXM app after scanning a QR code to listen to Sand 42 on the app from now until 11 p.m. ET on Oct. 26. A pop-up message will appear providing more instructions for fans to be able to enter.
Over the summer, Drake hosted his annual OVO festival for the first time since the start of the pandemic. A performance with his former Young Money crew members, including Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj, was supposed to take place during the event but wound up being pushed back to do Drake testing positive for COVID-19.
Drake’s first post-lockdown performance occurred on Dec. 9 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, which saw the rapper teaming up with long-time rival Kanye West for a combined show. While Drake has largely remained off the touring circuit in recent years, he released two albums, Certified Lover Boy in August 2021 and Honestly, Nevermind in June.
During Drake’s 2019 European tour, the rapper performed multi-night stints at various venues. Highlights included three nights at Paris’ AccorHotels Arena, which grossed a total $3.5 million, and three nights at Dublin’s 3Arena which grossed a total of $4 million. The majority of the rapper’s 2019 dates inNorth America were with his OVO Festival and a night in Washington D.C., but the rapper had a full North American tour in 2018. Among those dates included three nights at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena, grossing a total of $5.8 million, and two shows at Miami’s AmericanAirlines Arena grossing a total of $4.9 million, according to reports submitted to Pollstar‘s Boxoffice.
