Yeah Yeah Yeahs, MGMT Headline Just Like Heaven Fest in Pasadena
Indie rock and electro dance are making their way back to Brookside at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena this spring with Goldenvoice announcing the third annual Just Like Heaven Fest.
The one-day festival is taking place in the foothills of Los Angeles on May 13 with post-punk band Yeah Yeah Yeahs as headliners. MGMT will also be part of the show and play its 2007 hit album Oracular Spectacular in its entirety for the first time. Other performing acts include Future Islands, Empire of the Sun, M83, Hot Chip, The Bravery and The Walkmen, a New York City-based indie rock band that reunited after a nine-year hiatus.
“We’re headlining Just Like Heaven and cannot believe what a rad lineup it is this year,” the Yeah Yeah Yeahs said in a statement. “An embarrassment of riches of bands. Not to mention we’ll be playing some deep cuts off of Fever To Tell to celebrate its 20th birthday. Don’t be square; be there!”
MGMT, a Grammy-award-winning group, said they are “psyched” to perform their popular 2007 debut album.
“And of course, we’ll be taking this opportunity to do some hearty experimentation. Expect the unexpected and see you in May!” MGMT said in a statement.
Tickets for Just Like Heaven Fest go on sale this Friday, Jan. 20, at 10 a.m. PST. Fans can visit the festival website for more information.
