Music Industry Legends Featured on Pollstar Live! ’50 Years of Live Hip-Hop’ Keynote Conversation

Pollstar Live!, the world’s largest gathering of live entertainment professionals, just got bigger with the announcement of its star-studded keynote conversation. Big Daddy Kane, Doug E. Fresh, DJ Quik, Lionel Bea and Darryll Brooks will participate in a one-of-a-kind Q&A panel called “Throw Your Hands in the Air: 50 Years of Live Hip-Hop,” and it will be moderated by Geoff Walker.

The insightful conversation is curated in association with Universal Attractions Agency and features a group of panelists who boast a wealth of experience and knowledge about every facet of the music industry as well as hip-hop culture. They will speak at the three-day Pollstar Live! conference at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, Feb. 21-23. It is a flagship event for Pollstar magazine with compelling keynotes, panels, roundtables and the Pollstar Awards, celebrating the best in the business, along with plenty of opportunities to network and engage in insightful discussions.

Big Daddy Kane is one of the most influential rappers of his time whose first two albums, Long Live the Kane and It’s a Big Daddy Thing, are considered among the best in the genre.

Doug E. Fresh, known to be one of the best beatboxers, is also a prominent figure in hip-hop as a producer and rapper, and his track, “La Di Da Di” is one of the most sampled rap songs.

DJ Quik is a rapper and producer who burst onto the hip-hop scene with his platinum-certified debut album Quik Is The Name, which featured hit singles “Born and Raised in Compton” and “Tonite.”

Bea is the director of operations and co-founder of Bay Area Productions. He is also SVP of Black Promoters Collective, a coalition of six of the nation’s top independent concert promotion and event production companies.

Brooks is a Washington, D.C. native and owner of CD Enterprises who has promoted some of the biggest events in his area for decades.

Walker is the co-founder of The Collective Sports & Entertainment Management Group LLC and founder of Kickstand World, LLC, working with a diverse group of clients, professional athletes and fashion brands.
