ChatGPT Reviews A Taylor Swift Show: ‘One Of The Most Celebrated & Beloved Artists Of Our Time’

ChatGPT, released by OpenAI on Nov. 30, 2022, has quickly garnered attention for its real-time ability to “converse” with users – with more than a few calling it “creepy” and pointing to too-frequent inaccuracies, which should deter students from using it to write term papers (or reporters from using it to write concert reviews). It’s a work in progress.

But artificial intelligence chatbot applications have been in use in the concert industry for years – Ticketmaster launched a Facebook chatbot that won good, if not great, reviews when it was released in June 2017, and has developed a chatbot for use with its mobile app, as well. That box that pops open asking “can I help you?” on most commercial websites? Chatbot.

But the latest generation of AI chatbots are … different. There’s more to ChatGPT than the ability to have a functional, if brief, conversation without having to speak to an actual person, as appealing as that may be for some of us.

ChatGPT claims it is “cost-effective compared to hiring human customer service agents. It reduces the cost of running a customer service department, and the savings can be passed on to customers through lower ticket prices or other incentives. Overall, chatbot AI can improve the customer experience, increase ticket sales, and reduce costs for the concert industry.”

I asked ChatGPT how the concert industry could use it, and that’s what it told me, anyway.
I also asked it to review Taylor Swift’s April 1 show at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and write it in my style.

Disclaimers: I have yet to see a show on Ms. Swift’s current tour in person. Keith Urban did not, in fact, appear for a duet of his song “The Fighter” with Swift. And I don’t think it sounds anything like me.

Of course, no Swift concert would be complete without some surprises, and she did not disappoint. Midway through her set, she brought out country music legend Keith Urban for a duet of his hit song “The Fighter,” which had the crowd cheering even louder. Later in the show, she surprised fans with an acoustic rendition of “Delicate,” a fan-favorite from her 2017 album Reputation.
