U2 Announces Dates For ‘U2:UV Achtung Baby Live At Sphere’

U2 finally unveiled the dates for their highly-anticipated shows kicking off MSG Sphere in Las Vegas, which will also mark the bands return to live performances after four years. Five shows have been announced, with U2 opening the Sphere on Sept. 29.

At each show, 50 fans will have the opportunity to experience the show from an exclusive VIP riser benefitting (RED), the organization Bono and Bobby Shriver founded in 2006 to combat AIDS and injustices allowing pandemics to thrive.

“We’re so grateful once again to U2 for their generosity,” Jennifer Lotito, President and COO of (RED), said in a statement. “And we’re very excited that each ‘U2: UV Achtung Baby Live At Sphere’ performance will feature an iconic (RED) Zone, which lets fans choose (RED) and save lives while enjoying the show with an excellent view of the stage. Over the years, U2’s generosity has delivered nearly $23 million for (RED)’s fight to end AIDS. Thanks to U2 and U2 fans everywhere for helping (RED) make preventable and treatable disease preventable and treatable for everyone.”

U2’s last global tour took place in 2018/2019, the band selling out venues across Oceana, Asia, Europe and North America. Highlights from the trek included a $7.2 million gross at mt Smart Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand on Nov. 8 and 9, a $9.5 million gross at Sydney Cricket Ground in Moore Park, Australia on Nov. 22 and 23 and more, according to reports submitted to Pollstar‘s Boxoffice.

Back in February, U2 confirmed they would perform a run of fall dates at the Sphere. An announcement for the shows also noted drummer Larry Mullen Jr. will not be participating in the shows as he will be undergoing and recuperating from surgery. Bram van den Berg will join Bono, The Edge and Adam Clayton during the run of shows. Last October, it was reported that U2 joined Full Stop, where they are managed by Irving and Jeffrey Azoff.

Verified fansale will be used throughout the ticketing process, with registration for Verified Fan closing on April 26 at 10 a.m. ET. Tickets begin at $140 and will reflect all-in pricing, which includes the prices of taxes and fees. Due to venue capacity, 60% of tickets will be priced under $300. Fans can sign up for presale on U2.com, where they can pick up to three shows and rank in order of preference and request up to four tickets. General onsale for any remaining tickets will begin April 28 at 10 a.m.
