2023 Impact 50: Stacy Vee
VICE PRESIDENT
Goldenvoice
Stacy Vee has worked various music jobs since she started booking shows while in college at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota. Vee dreamed of working at Goldenvoice because of the company’s creativity and the span of artists they represented, recalling how she used to cut flyers out of LA Weekly and tape them to her desk as decor. In 2002, she got the chance to begin her journey with the promotion company as the assistant to Concerts West’s Paul Gongaware.
“I love getting my hands dirty. I love to play a part in something bigger and I love to see my work come to life,” Vee says about promoting.
Being collaborative by nature, Vee’s role as vice president suits her because she gets to work closely with AEG Presents Global Touring, Messina Touring Group and Concerts West. She adds, “I love finding ways for artists and the people I work with to have it all. I love bringing unique opportunities to artists and looking inside of AEG to bring all opportunities to the forefront.”
A highlight of Vee’s past year has been working with Zach Bryan and his team to launch his first arena tour, which Vee notes is sold out.
“I was an early fan,” Vee says. “It was really wonderful to work with Zach in the festival space for as long as I have and then translate that into touring business.”
Asked how inclusivity has improved her business, Vee – who spoke to Pollstar in between Coachella’s second weekend and Stagecoach – says: “Because it’s a blast. I’m going to be dancing to Nelly at Stagecoach and Trixie Mattel. BRELAND is back, two years in a row, because I love him so much. Valerie June, Keb’ Mo’. It’s at the forefront of my mind in everything I do. It just improves our lineups.”
Whatever Vee takes on next, you can bet she’s going to be all in.
“I’m at a point in my life where I want to work really hard and I want to do a good job and I want to grow into more of a leadership role as I continue on my professional journey,” Vee says. “I’m obsessed with what I do and I love the people that I get to work with.”
