Rising pop star GAYLE is following up dates supporting Taylor Swift on her “Eras Tour” and P!NK’s “Summer Carnival” with her own headline trek across the U.S. The “Scared But Trying Tour” begins Oct. 17 in Tampa, Florida, with a show at Crowbar.

The 19-year-old, who is signed to Atlantic / Arthouse Entertainment, said in a statement (in lowercase, to go along with her song titles): “going on tour with taylor swift and p!nk have been some of the most exciting and terrifying moments of my life. before walking on stage, i would get nauseous and it would be hard for me to control my breathing, but no matter how i felt, i would try and do it anyways. the last couple of years have been a whirlwind, but i’ve continued to do things even though i was afraid.

“the thought of going on my own tour is very intimidating to me, but over time, i’ve learned i can do things even though i’m afraid. with this tour, i am scared, but i’m ready to try.”

Last month GAYLE released the new single “don’t call me pretty,” which she premiered live  during “The Eras Tour.” She also has a song, “butterflies,” on BARBIE THE ALBUM, which goes along with the new film starring Margot Robbie as everyone’s favorite doll. Her most recent EP, A Study of the Human Experience Volume Two and a Half, was released in December, featuring eight new versions of tunes from her previous EPs.

GAYLE is currently playing stadiums in Europe, along with a few festivals, as part of P!NK’s “Summer Carnival.” She’ll join Swift’s “Eras Tour” once again in August with two nights booked  at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

The “Scared But Trying Tour” includes gigs at Denver’s Bluebird Theater, Los Angeles’ El Rey Theatre, Chicago’s Lincoln Hall, Toronto’s Velvet Underground, New York’s Racket, Atlanta’s The Loft and more. The last stop is a gig in GAYLE’s adopted hometown of Nashville at Basement East.

An artist presales is ongoing now, followed by Spotify and local presales that start Wednesday, June 14 at 10:00 am local. General onsales begin Friday, June 16 at 10:00 am local.

Earlier this year, Matthew Morgan, partner and co-head of UTA’s Nashville office, talked to Pollstar about GAYLE’s big year:

“GAYLE’s phenomenal. We signed her in late 2019 as a 15-year-old at that time. She presented as mature beyond her years as a vocalist and as a songwriter. COVID hit shortly after that. Marissa Smith and I lead that team and it’s been really awesome working with her. It’s been a lot of setup, honestly (laughs) to get to the Taylor dates. We did some select headlining, which we sold out once venues were back open for business and we had the wonderful gift of a massive viral hit song. And then we had her opening for AJR; we had her playing key festivals like Lollapalooza and ACL and Firefly. We did some brand deals between Bumble and Afterpay; have some others that are in the works. All those things cumulatively helped raise her visibility and profile to end up on somebody like Taylor’s radar because I think, as we all know, Taylor does what Taylor wants to do.

“GAYLE was playing a national songwriter award show and Taylor Swift was there, saw her play and requested to come down to her green room afterwards and asked her what she was doing the next summer. That was an incredible pinch-me moment for her and everybody else. I think Taylor saw a little bit of herself in GAYLE, where she was at a similar time in her career at that age. … And so it was really exciting. We were able to secure 15 stadium dates with Taylor and then in Europe [she’s] opening for P!nk on 15 stadium dates, including Hyde Park. So a really fantastic summer ahead for her with new music coming out and then a fall tour that we have planned.”

Box office reports submitted to Pollstar for GAYLE include an April 7, 2022, show at Fine Line Music Cafe in Minneapolis that sold 632 tickets and grossed $8,742.
