Morrissey To Conclude Fall Tour With 4 New York Shows
Iconic singer-songwriter Morrissey announced he will be returning to New York City for a special four-night run this fall at the United Palace in Manhattan that will wrap up a trek across the Americas. The artist will embark on an 18-date tour called “40 Years of Morrissey,” showcasing the artist’s illustrious career that began as frontman and lyricist for the Smiths.
Morrissey will begin his tour in Mexico City on Sept. 10, and the route includes stops in Peru, Colombia, Chile, Argentina and Brazil before visiting the U.S. He will perform three shows in Florida (Orlando, Hollywood and St. Petersburg) before making his way to Atlanta, Memphis, Nashville and Washington, D.C.
Morrissey will conclude his run with four nights at United Palace for what is promised to be “an unforgettable experience,” and tickets for the New York shows, which are produced by Brooklyn Made Presents, can be purchased at unitedpalace.org on Friday, June 23, at 10 a.m. ET.
“Brooklyn Made Presents is thrilled to be hosting this historic run of shows,” Anthony Makes, president and CEO of Brooklyn Made Presents, said in a statement. “Morrissey’s music has resonated with fans for 40 years, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring one of the most iconic and influential artists of all time to such a magnificent theater in Manhattan.”
Coming off a successful North American tour last fall, Morrissey is hitting the road in July for several shows in the U.K. and Ireland. He performed a sold-out show at the MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston, Massachusetts, on Dec. 4 and grossed $299,109 from 4,006 tickets sold, according to box office reports submitted to Pollstar. He also earned $338,387 from a performance at Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, New York, on Nov. 30.
