Chart Scene: P!NK Debuts On Artist Power Index With ‘Summer Carnival’ Tour

P!NK makes her first appearance ever on the Artist Power Index, debuting in the top 10 following the recent launch of her “Summer Carnival” tour. Seven concerts at the first four venues on the stadium trek propel her to No. 8 on the chart. She owns the 12th highest Live score of the week and is 21st among the Airplay scores. Also fueling her debut chart appearance is a rank of 57 in the Streaming category.

She kicked off the tour in the UK at the University of Bolton Stadium in England, playing two consecutive nights, June 7-8. Sunderland’s Stadium of Light followed, also hosting two performances, with Birmingham, England’s Villa Park on the schedule next with one show. After festival appearances in the Netherlands and Belgium in the middle of the month, the pop star made her only stop in France on the tour with shows June 20-21 at Paris La Défense Arena in Nanterre.

On the road in support of her latest studio album, Trustfall, that dropped in February, P!NK currently has stadium dates booked in Europe, North America and Oceania through next spring. Following her summer trek through the U.S., though, she will also play a series of arena concerts in North American markets during October and November.

Also new to the Artist Power Index in this issue are 21 Savage at No. 15, Grupo Frontera with the 22nd ranking and Fall Out Boy with the 43rd. Atlanta rapper 21 Savage earns his spot following a hometown headlining stint at the HOT 107.9 “Birthday Bash” held at State Farm Arena on June 17. He topped the bill that included GloRilla, Finesse2tymes, NLE Choppa, Jacquees and others.

Edinburg, Texas-based norteño band Grupo Frontera earns an APX ranking based on June performances during the group’s “El Comienzo” tour that kicked off earlier this year. California shows in Fresno, San Diego and Anaheim secure their spot on the chart.
Then, Fall Out Boy notches a chart ranking following the launch of the band’s tour supporting the new album So Much (For) Stardust, released in March. The tour opener on June 21 at Wrigley Field in Chicago also featured Alkaline Trio, The Academy Is and Royal & the Serpent in the lineup.

LIVE75’S highest ranked debut belongs to OV7, the Mexican Latin pop group currently on the road with their “30 Años” tour which celebrates the band’s 30-year career. They have the No. 28 ranking on the chart with a ticket average of 5,027 from three performances in two Mexican venues on the anniversary tour. An outdoor event at Arena GNP Seguros, a tennis stadium in Acapulco, sold 8,090 tickets for a performance on May 6, while Auditorio Telmex in Guadalajara’s Zapopan suburb hosted the group for two nights, May 12-13, moving 6,991 tickets for a gross of $397,689.

Following a stretch through U.S. cities in the spring, OV7 launched the Latin American leg of the tour in late April, beginning with a two-night engagement at Mexico City’s Auditorio Nacional that drew 18,579 fans. They will return to the same venue later this year in mid-August.

Ed Sheeran remains at No. 1 on LIVE75 for a second week based on a sold-ticket average from performances on his “Mathematics” world tour’s ongoing North American leg. Along with a two-night stand at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, single concerts at five more stadiums help cement his top chart ranking. Included are sold-out shows at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas; Houston’s NRG Stadium; Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida; Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium and Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field.

On the Artist Power Index, Taylor Swift continues her reign at No. 1 on the strength of multiple performances at four stadiums on her current “Eras” world tour. Falling in the eligibility period for this APX chart are three-night engagements at MetLife Stadium, Chicago’s Soldier Field, Ford Field in Detroit and Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh.
