Karol G Makes History With Sold-Out Rose Bowl Stadium Shows
A few weeks removed from Taylor Swift’s historic six-night run at SoFi Stadium near Los Angeles, Karol G made history of her own last weekend by becoming the first Latin artist to sell out two consecutive nights of her “Mañana Será Bonito Tour” at Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California.
The Colombian star, managed by Noah Assad’s Rimas Entertainment, cemented herself as a superstar in Pasadena, grossing $12.8 million on Friday night and $12.6 million on Saturday to record the highest-grossing concerts ever for a Latin female artist.
A total of 120,000 fans attended her shows last weekend and enjoyed opening act Young Miko, a rising 24-year-old Puerto Rican rapper who has accumulated more than 27 million monthly listeners on Spotify. She joined Karol G on stage later in the show to perform their song “DISPO” live for the first time. Karol G invited another guest on the second night and brought out none other than Becky G, and the two Latin stars performed a special rendition of their hit single “MAMIII”.
Each night was a nearly three-hour production that featured 30 songs, an elaborate stage design, a band of 11 women and 20 dancers (16 women and four men).
Karol G made the jump to stadiums this summer and kicked off her Live Nation-produced tour at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Aug. 11 and then stopped by Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on Aug. 14. She will perform at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium, Cotton Bowl in Dallas, MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, Chicago’s Soldier Field and Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta before closing out at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
According to the Pollstar Boxoffice, Karol G has earned nearly $149 million from 78 headline shows reported since May 16, 2017. Her first four shows of the “Mañana Será Bonito Tour” have grossed $39.6 million.
