SXSW Heads To Sydney, Unveils Full Schedule
Famed music conference South by Southwest (SXSW) is heading to the land down under for the first time next week and has announced the inaugural events full schedule.
Among the conferences speakers include actor Nicole Kidman, rapper Chance the Rapper, actor Naomi Watts, “Black Mirror” creator Charlie Brooker, AI experet Amy Webb, Indigenous Defence & Infrastructure Consortium CEO Adam Goodes, Co-Founder and CTO of Slack Cal Henderson, Coachella CEO Paul Tolette and Dreamhaven Co-Founders Amy and Mike Morhaime.
In addition to the conference panels, SXSW Sydney includes a screen festival curated by Ghita Lobenstein, focusing on talent within the Asia-Pacific region, and a music festival curated by Clair Collins with four nights of shows across 25 venues.
Australia’s Elle Shimada, dust, The Terrys, Vv Pete, Teenage Joans, Dulcie, Andrew Gurruwiwi Band, Rum Jungle, GO-JO, Mi0Kaisha, Death by Denim, These New South Whales, Cody Jon and Aodhan will all perform throughout the festival. New Zealand performers include Will Swinton, hanbee, Hans. and Soaked Oats. Japanese performers include Oktoboke Beaver, Chameleon Lime Whoopiepie and yuji. Indonesian performers include Isyana Saravati, Batavia Collective and GAC. South Korean performers include Hynpnosis Therapy, Adoy, Lil Cherry and Goldbuuda. Performers from the U.S. include Flyanna Boss, Redveil and Wallice. Performers from the UK include Connie Constance and Los Bitchos.
Additionally, the SXSW Sydney Games Festival will also take place and is curated by Luke Lancaster.
