Chart Scene: Latin Stars Top The Rankings On LIVE75
Adiverse trio of Latin music headliners head up the rankings on LIVE75 based on ticket sales at multiple performances in U.S. and Canadian venues. Claiming the No. 1 position is RBD with a sold-ticket average of 16,978 which tops No. 2-ranked Peso Pluma’s average by only 425 tickets. Then, the third-highest ranking goes to the “Trilogy” tour starring co-headliners Enrique Iglesias, Pitbull and Ricky Martin with sold tickets averaging 14,020 per show.
Seven performances at three venues on RBD’s “Soy Rebelde” reunion tour earn the Latin pop group the top ranking, largely due to a four-show engagement, Oct. 19-22, at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles. The city’s soccer-specific venue, formerly named the Banc of California Stadium, logged a sold-ticket total of 89,284 and a gross of $21.5 million for the concerts.
The tour also played three shows in two other California cities with sales figures that add to the group’s ticket count. A two-show stint at San Diego’s Viejas Arena, Oct. 13-14, moved a total of 17,903 tickets, while a sold-out concert on Oct. 15 at Save Mart Center in Fresno drew 11,663 attendees. The grosses from all seven shows reached $29.2 million for a per-show average of $4.17 million which gives RBD the “Heavy Hitter” classification with the highest gross average on the chart.
Sellouts in California venues also earn Mexican singer Peso Pluma a top-three appearance on LIVE75 with “Hot Shot” status as the highest-ranked artist to debut in this issue. He scores the second ranking with ticket sales from concerts at SAP Center in San Jose, Glen Helen Amphitheater in San Bernardino and a two-show run at Anaheim’s Honda Center. Together, his four concerts produced a ticket total of 66,212 and a combined gross of $8.6 million.
Then, Iglesias, Pitbull and Martin, ranked No. 3, also make their debut appearance on LIVE75 with box-office figures reported from four concerts on the “Trilogy” tour’s 2023 North American run. From shows at Washington’s Capital One Arena; Montreal’s Bell Centre; Boston’s TD Garden; and Barclays Center in Brooklyn, their combined ticket total reached 56,081 with a gross of $10 million. The headcount at the Montreal arena was the highest of the four venues with 15,227 fans present for a sold-out performance on Oct. 20.
LIVE75 has a total of 34 debuts, all by artists making their first appearance in the rankings in the past month. Also entering the top 10 this week are Depeche Mode at No. 5, Queen + Adam Lambert with the 7th ranking, Eagles in the ninth spot and Ms. Lauryn Hill and The Fugees, ranked No. 10.
The Artist Power Index also sees a change at No. 1 as Taylor Swift returns to the rankings after resuming her “Eras” tour with the launch of its nine-show South American leg. Her first performance on the continent was held at Estadio Monumental Antonio Vespucio Liberti in Buenos Aires, Argentina on Nov. 9 followed by two more performances on the 11th and 12th. Then, her final two venues for the year will be Rio De Janeiro’s Estádio Olímpico Nilton Santos and Allianz Parque in São Paulo with concerts planned through Nov. 26.
