Legendary Mexican Rock Bands Caifanes, Café Tacvba Announce 20-City Tour

Two of the most influential rock en español bands will be joining forces in 2024 for what is sure to be a unique and memorable live music experience. Caifanes and Café Tacvba, two iconic bands hailing from Mexico City, will embark on a 20-city tour to deliver a dose of nostalgia and demonstrate the enduring power of the genre.

The historic joint venture, produced by Live Nation, will kick off May 29 at Toyota Center in Kennewick, Washington, and the route includes stops at L.A.’s beloved Hollywood Bowl, Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, Denver’s Levitt Pavilion, Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas Texas, New York’s SummerStage in Central Park and Budweiser Stage in Toronto. The bands’ run concludes June 30 at Everwise Amphitheater at White River State Park in Indianapolis.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Dec. 15 at 10 a.m. local time and can be purchased at LiveNation.com. Citi cardmembers will have access to presale tickets from Dec. 12 at 10 a.m. local time until Dec. 15 at 9 a.m. through the Citi Entertainment program. Additional presales will run throughout the week, as well.

The two bands, who are repped by WME, have produced some of the most lauded music in the Spanish-language rock scene. Caifanes and Café Tacvba broke out in the late ’80s and were among the bands that spearheaded the rock en español boom in the ’90s, which widened the audience and elevated the genre to never-before-seen heights. The 2024 tour marks the first time they co-headline a run of shows together.

Caifanes toured arenas, theaters and clubs throughout North America this year and drew solid crowds, including a Feb. 10 show at Toyota Arena in Ontario, California, that grossed $695,659 off 7,851 tickets sold, according to Pollstar Boxoffice.

Café Tacvba had four sold-out shows at Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City in August that grossed a total of $1.93 million off 37,976 tickets, according to box office reports submitted to Pollstar.
