British Band Yard Act Adds North American Dates To 2024 Tour

Yard Act visited “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Tuesday to perform “We Make The Hits,” and it won’t be the only time the British rock band makes its way to the States. The quartet hailing from Leeds announced additional North American dates to their “Dream Job Tour,” which now includes performances in the Midwest and East Coast as well as Canada and Mexico.

The band will play shows in the United Kingdom and Europe through April and then make their way to the West Coast for several concerts in California, including a stop at the Regent Theater in Los Angeles on May 31. The recently added stops to the route include shows at Fine Line in Minneapolis, Chicago’s Metro, Axis Club in Toronto, Philadelphia’s Union Transfer, Irving Plaza in New York City, Black Cat in Washington D.C. and Atlanta’s Terminal West. Yard Act will close out at Foro Puebla in Mexico City on Oct. 19.

Tickets for the North American shows from Oct. 2-19 go on sale Feb. 16 at 10 a.m. local time and can be purchased on the band’s website, yardactors.com.

Yard Act, which is repped by ATC Live worldwide excluding North America, entered the music scene two years ago with their acclaimed debut post-punk album The Overload. They look to build on that success with an ambitious follow-up Where’s My Utopia?, which was co-produced by Remi Kabaka Jr. of Gorillaz and influenced by a wide range of acts, from The Cardigans to renowned Italian composer Ennio Morricone. The new album drops on March 1.

“The sentiment of the lyrics gets to the heart of Where’s My Utopia? almost immediately, and finds the cynicism first spawned from the same circumstance I found myself in during ‘Dream Job’ now giving way to a more genuine sliver of misery,” frontman James Smith said in a statement. “Fortunately — spoiler alert — I’ve managed to find a way out of this pit, for the time being.

“The main reason that ‘post-punk’ was the vehicle for Album One was because it was really affordable to do, but we always liked so much other music and this time we’ve had the confidence to embrace it,” he added.
