Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Break Beacon Theatre Record With 11 Sellouts
Iconic comedy duo Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have set a record at New York’s Beacon Theatre with 11 sold-out comedy shows Feb. 7-18.
The shows, as part of the duo’s “Restless Leg” tour, beats a previous record of 10 consecutive shows set in October by Trevor Noah.
That those records were set so recently is no fluke, with the Beacon becoming a regular for multi-show runs and comedy runs specifically, with shows by comics including Ali Wong, Sebastian Maniscalco, Eddie Izzard and others.
Jerry Seinfeld holds the record for most shows by any comedian at the venue all time, with 113 and counting.
“The Restless Leg” tour was a Beacon first for both Poehler and Fey, whose shows during their run included guest appearances by Fred Armisen, Rachel Dratch, and Maya Rudolph. The shows at the MSG venue were promoted by Live Nation. Poehler and Fey are represented by WME.
