Willie Nelson Brings 4th Of July Picnic To Philadelphia Area

The 2024 edition of Willie Nelson’s annual 4th of July Picnic will take place in the Birthplace of America. Or at least across the Delaware River from the birthplace.

The annual event, produced by Blackbird Presents and Live Nation, is set for Independence Day at the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden, New Jersey, with Philadelphia’s skyline set behind.

Nelson himself will headline, as per tradition. Also on the bill: Bob Dylan, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Maren Morris, Mavis Staples and Celisse.

Citi presale begins 10 a.m. local March 26 and runs through 10 p.m. local March 28. General onsale begins 10 a.m. March 29 at ticketmaster.com.

Held annually — though it was virtual in 2020 — the picnic began in 1973 at the Hurlbut Ranch in Dripping Springs, Texas and with only a few exceptions — jaunts to Oklahoma, Missouri, Indiana and Georgia — been held in Nelson’s beloved Lone Star State and from 2015 through 2023 had been held in Austin.
