UBS Arena Tapped To Host 2024 MTV VMAs
The MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) are scheduled to take place on Sept. 10, and have announced this year the show will take place at Belmont Park, New York’s UBS Arena.
The show will air in more than 150 countries reaching over 319 million households.
“We’re excited to bring this year’s VMAs to UBS Arena, one of the country’s newest and most cutting edge,” Bruce Gillmer, President of Music, Music Talent, Programming and Events at Paramount and Chief Content Officer, Music at Paramount+, said in a statement. “Celebrating one of music’s biggest nights with the incredible, robust New York area fans is something we’ve been looking forward to the moment last year’s show ended.”
UBS Arena first opened in November 2021 and has held concerts for Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, Chris Stapleton, Dua Lipa, Drake, Harry Styles, Zach Bryan and more. The arena has also been tapped to host the 2026 NHL All-Star Game and serves as the home for the New York Islanders hockey team. The venue’s 2023 sellouts included two nights of Bruce Springsteen, Mana, two nights of SUGA, two nights of TXT, blink-182, Hot 97 Summer Jam featuring Cardi B, Peso Pluma, Aerosmith, Chris Stapleton nad Billy Joel.
So far in 2024, the venue has also seen sell outs by Stevie Nicks, two Drake performances, two Zach Bryan performances, Elevation Worship and Machel Montana with ENHYPHEN, as well as two shows by Aventura.

In March, the venue hosted nine events in 10 days including two back-to-back Islanders games, a PWHL New York game, a show from Excision and Drake and Zach Bryan performances wrapping the month.
Further events scheduled to take place in UBS Arena in 2024 include the Hot 97 Summer Jam, MegaBash MX, Nate Bargatze, Fuerza Regida, Jennifer Lopez, Missy Elliot, $uicideboy$, Don Omar, and Jelly Roll.
Last year, the VMAs took place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, and were hosted by Nicki Minaj. NLE Choppa and Sabrina Carpenter performed during the pre-show festivities, while the main show featured performances by Lil Wayne, Olivia Rodrigo, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion, Demi Lovato, Anitta, Doja Cat, Shakira, Nicki Minaj, Karol G, Diddy, Peso Pluma, Stray Kids and more.
