Childish Gambino has announced “The New World Tour” — his first headline trek in five years — to accompany the surprise release of his new album, Atavista. The AEG-promoted tour launches in North America with stops at 33 arenas across the U.S. and Canada, starting with an Aug. 11 show at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

The North American leg will conclude at Chicago’s United Center on Oct. 3 and then the experimental hip-hop/R&B artist, otherwise known as actor/comedian Donald Glover, will head to Europe. Following an Oct. 31 show in Lyon, France, further dates are scheduled in Milan, Prague, Berlin, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, London and more before concluding in Dublin on Dec. 5. The Australian and New Zealand leg of the tour runs from Jan. 28 to Feb. 11.

Willow and Amaarae will support Gambino on select dates, with Willow joining for the North American leg and Amaara appearing on the European, Australian and New Zealand legs.

Gambino explained in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) May 12 that “ATAVISTA is streaming now. this album is the finished version of “3.15.20”, the album i put out 4 years ago. there’s a special vinyl coming soon w/ visuals for each song.”

He also shared a video for “Little Foot Big Foot” and noted that a new album — said to be the last released under his Childish Gambino moniker — is due out in the summer. In another tweet he added the upcoming album is the soundtrack to his film Bando Stone & The New World.

Since wrapping his 2018-2019 tour, “This Is America,” the bulk of Childish Gambino performances over the last several years have been at festivals, including a guest appearance at Coachella 2024 during Tyler, the Creator’s set. In 2019 he headlined a number of festivals including Coachella, Outside Lands and Austin city Limits.

The most recent reports submitted to Pollstar Boxoffice for Gambino were underplays at The Cluny in Newcastle, United Kingdom on Nov. 29 and Stereo in Glasgow, Scotland, on Nov. 28. Both shows had an audience of less than 300, grossing $3,405 in Newcastle and $3,657 in Glasgow.

Highlights from his last tour include a July 17, 2019 performance at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena that grossed $1 million and two sold-out shows at The Forum in Inglewood, California, Dec. 16-17 2018, that sold 26,659 tickets and grossed a total $2.4 million.

Childish Gambino is booked by Wasserman Music’s Brent Smith worldwide.

Following presales, tickets for the tour go on sale starting May 17 at 10 a.m. ET.
