Jennifer Lopez has canceled her arena tour that was supposed to mark her first trek in five years. The singer/actress/dancer didn’t provide a reason for the cancellation but said she “wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary.”

The tour was supposed to start June 26 at the Kia Center in Orlando, Florida, with shows booked through an Aug. 31 stop at the Toyota Center in Houston.

Variety reported in April that Lopez had called off seven dates due to weak ticket sales, including stops in Cleveland and Nashville, and then rebranded the tour from “This Is Me… Now” to “This Is Me… Live | The Greatest Hits.”

The tour took its name from Lopez’s ninth studio album, This Is Me… Now, which was released in February. She also put out a musical film, This Is Me… Now: A Love Story and a documentary called The Greatest Love Story Never Told.

A statement posted May 31 on Lopez’s website, described as a “special message to JLovers OntheJLo.com,” explained, “I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down. Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary. I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again. I love you all so much. Until next time…”

Her site also included a quote from Live Nation:

“Representatives for Live Nation announced that the Jennifer Lopez US Summer 2024 tour ‘THIS IS ME…LIVE’ is cancelled, citing … ‘Jennifer is taking time off to be with her children, family and close friends.”

Prior to her co-headline Super Bowl halftime show with Shakira in 2020, Lopez’s last tour, “It’s My Party Tour,” took place in 2019. The North American portion of the trek concluded with three sold-out shows at Miami’s American Airlines Arena from July 25 to 27, 2019, which grossed a total of $5.4 million.

Lopez is booked by CAA.

Earlier in the week, another arena tour was canceled with an announcement from The Black Keys saying a revised set of dates in more intimate venues would be revealed soon.
