Rock ‘N’ Roll Fantasy Camp Returns To L.A. In October With Mike Dirnt, Dave Keuning, Stephen Perkins & More
Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp, created by onetime sports agent and concert producer David Fishof 28 years ago, is preparing for its second edition of 2024, Oct. 17-20 in Los Angeles, led by Green Day’s Mike Dirnt, The Killers’ Dave Keuning and Jane’s Addictions’ Stephen Perkins. The camp is topped by live performances from the campers at the legendary Whisky a Go Go in and The Viper Room in Hollywood.
Registration is now open for the fall session, and Fishof recommends getting in early because spaces are limited.
Musicians and vocalists of all ages and skill levels are welcome and will be interviewed by a musical director to ensure the best band placement prior to the camp.
Over four days, campers will experience band rehearsals, jam sessions, masterclasses with rockstar counselors, Q&A sessions, live performances, and more. Rock Camp mentors include Mike Kroeger (Nickelback), Monte Pittman (Madonna, Ministry), Johnny Martin (L.A. Guns), Jeff Friedl (Devo, A Perfect Circle), Adam Kury (Candlebox), Rafa Moreira (Paul Stanley), Jennifer Oberle (Five for Fighting, Sarah McLachlan), Tommy Black (Scott Weiland) and Musical Director Britt Lightning (Vixen).
They’ll run participants through songs by Green Day, The Killers and Jane’s Addiction including “American Idiot,” “Basket Case,” “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life),” “Boulevard of Broken Dreams,” “When I Come Around,” “Wake Me Up When September Ends,” “Mr. Brightside,” “Somebody Told Me,” “Human,” “When You Were Young,” “Been Caught Stealing,” “Jane Says,” and many more.
“Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp is an inclusive environment where the passion for music takes center stage,” according to the announcement. “You will leave with memories to last a lifetime, friendships forged in the fires of rock and roll, and skills that will elevate your musical journey. Embark on this epic musical adventure and solidify your place in rock history!”
Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp was the subject of “Rock Camp: The Movie,” released in 2020 and streaming on Amazon Video and YouTube. Recent past guests at camp include Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Kim Thayil (Soundgarden), Jerry Cantrell (Alice in Chains), Robert and Dean DeLeo (Stone Temple Pilots) and more.
