The answer is yes – if only temporarily – as he sits in with the Coral Reefer Band for 11 dates on Jimmy Buffett‘s summer tour, which kicked off in Camden, N.J., June 8.

Black is standing in for longtime harmonica player Greg “Fingers” Taylor, who reportedly left the band in May.

Originally, Black only planned to play the first five dates of the tour, but “I guess he had such a good time (at the Camden show), he decided to keep doing it for awhile,” a spokesperson for the country star told Pollstar.

Despite seeming like a musical odd couple, Black and Buffett are old friends and Black has opened shows for the man from Margaritaville in years past. So when Buffett needed a harp player, Black was happy to answer the call.

“They’re good friends, and when Jimmy called, Clint said he’d love to do it. He’s out having a good time, and just being regular old Clint,” the spokesperson said.

One thing is certain: Black is having a good, busy, time. He is performing with the Coral Reefer Band during the off-nights on his own summer tour.

“Clint doesn’t know the meaning of the word ‘vacation,'” his spokesperson said of how Black is spending his free time.

Black will moonlight as a “Reefer” on all Buffett dates through July 29, except June 22, July 13 and 15.
