The festivities commence July 1 in Memphis, Tenn., and include stops in Dallas, Chicago, Philadelphia, Atlanta and New York. SoulFest plays two nights at the Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles August 18-19, and wraps on the 20th in the San Francisco Bay Area. The package plays mostly amphitheatres during the 21-city tour.

A commemorative Cheerios box emblazoned with Maze and Gerald Levert hits store shelves in early July.

Now in its third year, SoulFest has established itself as a diverse and popular summer package. The first year’s lineup included Earth Wind & Fire, the Isley Brothers, and the O’Jays, while 1999’s Honey Nut Cheerios Sisters Soulfest featured Chaka Khan and Patti LaBelle.
