Former Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann is the new Other One. He replaces John Molo, who had scheduling conflicts with the upcoming Furthur Festival.

Kreutzmann joins Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, Bruce Hornsby, Steve Kimock, Mark Karan and Alphonso Johnson on the tour, which begins August 23 at the Coors Amphitheatre in Chula Vista, Calif. Kreutzmann, who was a founding member of the Grateful Dead, seems a perfect fit.

The Other Ones were formed by remaining members of the Grateful Dead after the death of Jerry Garcia in 1995.

“I am extremely excited to be playing music again with Bobby, Mickey, Bruce and the rest of the band,” Kreutzmann said. “I had listened to them talk about how great the last tour was and I knew if they ever did it again that I would want to be right there alongside them.”

Ziggy Marley & the Melody Makers join The Other Ones on the Furthur Festival tour.
