Man Falls To Death At Metallica Show
Baltimore police said Martin Muscheet, 21, of Danbury, Conn., fell from an exterior railing onto the pavement outside the stadium.
“It appears he had his legs over the railing and either fell or lost his balance,” police spokesman Col. Robert Novak said.
Around 6:40 p.m., the man fell over the rail from the concourse level of the five-story upper deck on the Hamburg Street side of the stadium, according to the Baltimore Sun. Baltimore police told the Sun he landed headfirst close to the Gate A entrance.
Muscheet was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Police are investigating the circumstances of his death, but believe it was anaccident.
Witnesses report seeing the man’s leg over the railing. “Next thing I knew, he flipped and fell head first,” Lee Stewart said.
“I don’t think most people inside realized what was going on,” said concert-goer Steve Huber.
In addition to Metallica, Korn, Kid Rock, Powerman 5000 and System of a Down are the featured artists on the Summer Sanitorium tour.
