INXS Schedules Tour of Australia, New Zealand
INXS has scheduled a tour of Australia and New Zealand, with guest vocalist Jon Stevens taking over singing duties in the place of Michael Hutchence, the frontman who died in 1997.
The rest of the band consists of original members Tim and Andrew Farriss, Kirk Pengilly and Garry Gary Beers.
The Australian outfit opens August 16 & 17 at the Station Resort in Jindabyne, Australia, then moves on to New Zealand August 20 – 25, wrapping up in Christchurch.
INXS played a couple of low-key dates earlier in the year, and Farriss and Stevens collaborated on an anthem, “Carry The Flame,” for the upcoming Summer Olympics in Sydney.
In another appearance earlier in the year, the band helped launch Stadium Australia in Sydney with Terence Trent D’Arby guesting on vocals.
