He’ll perform his blend of electronica and guitar-based rock at least through October. More dates for the tour – which hits mostly theatres – are expected to be announced soon.

Moby will stop in major markets including Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, St. Louis, Chicago, Detroit and New York City.

His 1999 release, Play, pushed him into the limelight after a couple of close brushes with fame.

Despite touring with the 1995 installment of the Lollapalooza Festival and releasing several albums in the 1990s, Moby was better known for his artistry in mixing tracks for other musicians than he was for his own work.

Moby released a greatest-hits package of pre-Play material, called Mobysongs: 1993-98, in July. He’s now on tour in Europe after spending the early part of the year on the MTV Campus Invasion tour with Bush.
