Chris Schneck had just left the show at the E-Center the night of August 26 when someone attacked his friend with a piece of lumber in the parking lot. Schneck said he was hit from behind as he went to intervene.

“I got knocked down,” said the 21-year-old waiter from Newtown, Bucks County. “I really didn’t know what happened, and then when I woke up my hand was pretty much cut.”

His father, Tom Schneck, said doctors described his nearly severed hand as an injury you might see on a battlefield.

The younger Schneck will undergo more surgery; doctors said there is a good chance that he will get to keep his right hand.

The Schneck family is considering a lawsuit to bring about tighter security. Pollstar’s calls to the venue were not immediately returned.
