The quirky singer/songwriter will support her newest studio release, Water To Drink, with a 15-city tour starting September 25 in Seattle. Her itinerary wends its way through Canada and the northern U.S. before veering south to Williams’ home state of Louisiana, through Texas and back to her adopted home base in Los Angeles.

Water To Drink is Williams’ fifth album, yet the recording she is best known for isn’t her own – but the 1993 collection of her songs, Sweet Relief, recorded by friends including Pearl Jam, Maria McKee, Reed, Soul Asylum, and the Jayhawks.

The album raised funds for Williams, who had been diagnosed the previous year with multiple sclerosis and like most musicians, had no health insurance coverage.

The album was so successful it enabled Williams to create a foundation by the same name to raise funds for other artists in need.
