The three-band bill moves through the West and Southwest before hitting the East Coast. It looks like the tour could run into the first week of December, according to the Deftones Web site. A slew of additional dates is expected soon.

Taproot is currently out with Papa Roach and (hed)p.e. , then tours with Disturbed and Ultraspank before hooking up with Deftones and Incubus.

Deftones spent much of the summer on the road, following the June release of the hit album, White Pony. Frontman Chino Moreno is especially busy. He’s working on a side project called Team Sleep, which he calls, “very nocturnal, droney, ambient. It’s pretty experimental. I’m writing short pop songs for the project and blending organic sounds with electronic equipment.”

The singer said he takes recording equipment with him on the road and works on songs after shows and on Deftones’ off-days.
