The September 21 show at Roseland Ballroom in New York City will raise money for the Savannah Woody Educational Fund, a trust for his wife and 3-year-old daughter.

Artists scheduled to perform at the One For Woody benefit are the Allman Brothers Band – for whom Woody played during the early 1990s – The Black Crowes, Warren Haynes and Matt Abts of Gov’t Mule, and Phil Lesh & Friends.

Tickets for the concert are $75 and are available through Ticketmaster and the Irving Plaza box office. For fan who can’t make it for the tribute, Gov’t Mule also asks they “please join us in helping take care of Woody’s family’s future” by donating to the Savannah Woody Educational Fund, c/o Hard Head Management, P.O. Box 651, Village Station, New York, NY 10014.

The band also is forwarding condolence notes from fans to Woody’s family from the Web site. The cause of his death still has not been determined.
