Godsmack and Disturbed spent most of the summer with Ozzfest 2000, while STP continues its trek with the Red Hot Chili Peppers through September 22.

Disturbed will get acquainted with Scott Weiland and the boys while supporting a Stone Temple Pilots headline tour October 3 – 13 before meeting up with Godsmack for the MTV outing.

This is the second time out for the MTV-sponsored event. The inaugural tour rolled out with P.O.D., Staind, Dope, and Crazy Town earlier this year.

The new Return Of The Rock kicks off October 20 at the Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh, and is so far booked into 14 arenas and theatres, with more dates expected. Cities include major U.S. markets like New York City, Los Angeles and Houston, but the bands also stop in a number of secondary markets as well.
