The DNC outing features the band’s original lineup – Kinney, Tim Nielsen and Jeff Sullivan – with the addition of David Franklin on guitar.

Drivin N Cryin aren’t just celebrating an anniversary – they’re out in support of a best-of album, The drivin n cryin Ultimate Collection.

The tour kicks off at the Magnolia Street Pub in Spartanburg, S.C., where the band will share the stage with John Wesley Harding.

They’ll appear with Harding again the next night in Georgia. The November 9 gig features Cowboy Mouth at Auburn University in Alabama. After that, the bandmates are on their own through December 2.

The tour marks the first time the Atlanta-based band has played together since November 1999. They took a year off so Kinney could record and tour behind his third solo album, The Flower and The Knife, which was released in January.

Kinney is doing some solo shows when the full band isn’t playing, including November 5 at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta with Harding and his band, the Radical Gentlemen. He’ll appear with Warren Haynes & Matt Abts for three November shows as well.

Once Drivin N Cryin wraps up their tour, Kinney will stay out through December with solo dates throughout the Southeast.
