The 30-date caravan will launch June 8 at the New World Music Theatre near Chicago. The following day, the caravan descends on the Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, Wis.

Tickets go on sale March 16 – 18 for the first batch of dates that include the Cleveland, Seattle, Sacramento, Los Angeles and Chicago markets.

Some Ozzfest dates will resurrect the Pit Pass after a six-year absence. Pit Pass holders will be able to mosh their brains out in a reserved area, secure in the knowledge that membership has its privileges. Not all venues chose to establish a formal mosh pit area, but buildings that offer general admission tickets tend to allow moshing, anyway.

Wired-in fans can get the jump on their Internet-challenged friends when the Ozzfest official Web site offers exclusive advance-sale Pit Passes as early as 10 a.m. PST March 16 for shows in San Bernardino, Calif.; and Bristol, Va.

Online-only sales for the passes in Charlotte, N.C.; Pittsburgh; Atlanta, Dallas, St. Louis, Kansas City and San Antonio will take place the day before the public onsale dates.
