Barenaked Ladies Streak Across America
The amphitheatre tour is set to kick off July 13 in Darien Center, N.Y. Pollstar is awaiting confirmation that Vertical Horizon will open most shows through August 3.
The Proclaimers – the Scottish identical twins responsible for the 1993 hit “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” – take over support duties August 6 at the Riverport Amphitheatre near St. Louis.
They’ll remain with the tour through August 26 when the outing closes out with a two-night stand August 25 – 26 at Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston, Mich.
BNL has been on a world tour with only short breaks since September, and with the addition of at least 28 dates through the summer, the Canadian quintet should ring up box office figures to rival those of their landmark 1999 tour. That year saw the band gross more than $10 million in ticket sales.
The Ladies have been around for more than a decade and their popularity has exploded in recent years, making the band a major touring attraction.
