“Coming right up. What’s the occasion?”

“Got me a new job working for a big concert promoter. I’m going to see all the big shows, like Backstreet Boys, Eric Clapton and Dave Matthews Band.”

“Really? I didn’t think…”

“You didn’t think what? That I wasn’t smart enough to work in the concert business?”

“Well, ah….”

“Look, I know I’ve made a few mistakes in my life.”

“A few?”

“Okay, I admit that the Florida butterfly ballot wasn’t one of my finest moments. But the design was so pretty, I just couldn’t refuse.”

“I’ll give you that one, but what about…”

Josie & The Pussycats? I just worked on that picture. I didn’t green light it. But that’s all in the past. This summer I’m going to be working at great shows like Bon Jovi and Incubus.”

“How about Air?”

“Oh, sure. Plus David Byrne in June, Alan Jackson in July, and Roxy Music in August. I can hardly wait.”

“Sounds like you really like your job.”

“Like it? I love it. I was born for this job. However, I have to admit I am a little worried about my latest assignment.”

“What’s the matter?.”

You know that amphitheatre in Irvine, California?”

“Irvine Meadows? That’s where I’m going to see that Styx / Bad Company co-headline this summer.”

“A while back they switched the name to the .”

“Oh?”

“Then there’s that new amphitheatre outside San Antonio. They just named that one the . Ozzfest 2001 and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers are just some of the shows they have planned for their first season.”

“And that’s giving you headaches? Why?”

“Because my boss gave me the new signs to hang at both venues. I have a Verizon Wireless sign for Irvine and a Verizon Wireless sign for San Antonio.”

“So?”

“Well, I kind of got them mixed up.”

“Don’t know which sign goes with which venue, eh?”

“Yeah. And to make matters worse, they look identical.”

“That does sound like trouble. Want another beer?”

“No thanks. I’m going to need a clear head if I’m ever gonna figure this one out.”
