Stevie Goes To Shangri-La
Details are just beginning to unfold, with the tour looking to kick off in late June and run through the summer. Right now, the first date on the schedule is June 29 at Riverport Amphitheatre in St. Louis but Nicks’ reps said the start-date may be pushed back a week. Three other dates have been announced and may be affected if the first date is moved.
Trouble in Shangri-La features guest performances by some hot female stars who have felt the influence of the gypsy queen, including Sheryl Crow – who produced some of the songs, Sarah McLachlan, Macy Gray and Dixie Chick Natalie Maines.
Along with material for the new album, Nicks is expected to deliver plenty of hits like “Gold Dust Woman,” “Rhiannon,” “Landslide,” “Stand Back” and “Edge of Seventeen.”
One of the most recognizable voices to arise from the ‘70s California rock scene, Nicks rose to fame with Fleetwood Mac and enjoyed major success as a solo artist in the ‘80s. Interest in the singer was rekindled when Fleetwood Mac reunited for an album and tour in 1997. She followed that sold-out 43-date outing with a solo tour in 1998.
Plans for a new Fleetwood Mac album are on hold because the band has been unable to lure singer/pianist Christine McVie out of retirement in England.
